Colliers International sells town centre building on Maritana Street
A Kalgoorlie retail building with a 15-year lease to independent supermarket group FoodWorks has been sold for $1 million.
The sale of the building leased to Hannan’s FoodWorks at 60 Collins Street in Piccadilly was overseen by Colliers International’s Tim Scott and Shane Isaacs who said there was strong demand in the goldmining town for securely-leased retail property.
“This building occupies a prime site in north Kalgoorlie where it is surrounded by an established residential area and is close to the Kalgoorlie Health Campus,” Mr Scott said.
“With the town’s economy expected to be supported by investment in the gold industry and an increase in exploration drilling, there was a good level of interest in this property.”
The freehold sale included the retail building and a rear house which occupy a 2023qm site on the corner of Collins and Maritana streets.
The building has a long frontage to Maritana Street, one of Kalgoorlie’s main thoroughfares, and a rear laneway for loading. It was purchased by a Kalgoorlie-based syndicate.
